So Different from the Picture!

Basically, it's just a big piece of expensive plastic and more opaque than what was pictured.

  • What wind velocity does this withstand and what the warranty?

    Solexx panels contain UV inhibitor throughout the material; it is not simply a coating that can scratch or wear off. The covering has a 10 year limited warranty against ultraviolet breakdown. Solexx greenhouses have been in the field for well over 25 years and there has been minimal UV degradation. All plastics do eventually break down when exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time; however, these panels are easy and inexpensive to replace.

    On page 14 of the Solexx Technical Guide, it talks about the wind management:

    III.4 Wind Performance
    Solexx covered structures passed field tests in high wind areas across the country. Solexx performs extremely
    well in high wind conditions. Since Solexx does not float between metal channels like polycarbonate, it
    cannot blow out of the channels and create a pathway for air to enter and further damage the structure.
    Unlike polyethylene film, Solexx will not rip or tear in wind. Unlike glass, Solexx does not shatter. It is always
    important to tie down your structure and keep strong wind from getting under it. 

  • I am designing a custom green house that is in a Pentagon shape. 14 foot sections which would mean I would have to section to roof together. Are there plastic connectors for the roof to purchase, or do I purchase them a specific size from you? Also o take it this stuff is quite flexible? I like I Oregon and the wind here gets nasty. I will have a cinder block base with a greater top which I take I can screw your product to without I leaking with proper sealing screws? Thanks for your time...

    You can overlap the Solexx and attach to your frame by screwing down every six inches.  We recommend if you can overlap and screw down to do that and not to use H-channel.
