Keeps soil warmer in the Spring and Fall, and cooler in the Summer, so you can grow for an extended period.

It was built in the mid-19th century as a defensive base to protect the USA against incursions by foreign powers. Although I‘ve only seen images, it provided the inspiration for naming my hexagonally designed raised garden bed. An extraordinary, functional raised garden bed with it's great capacity and pleasing shape!
