Mortice and Tenon Joints

This cleverly engineered joint system not only simplifies the assembly process, making construction straightforward and hassle-free, but also significantly enhancing the strength and durability of the framework. Aluminum Base

The aluminum base is designed to keep wood away from areas where water tends to collect. This innovative feature allows the glass to sit directly on the metal base, preventing side water from running onto the wood—a common cause of rot in other greenhouses—ensuring greater durability and longevity.

Toughened Glass

The 3mm toughened safety glass used is in large panes which means that every pane is helping the rigidity of the overall structure. Toughened glass is 5-7 times stronger than standard horticultural glass. If it breaks, it will disintegrate into hundreds of small pieces which greatly reduce the chances of injury.

Thick Glazing Timber Bars

Unlike many greenhouses that have reduced material thickness to cut costs, Alton greenhouse features robust 44x44mm timber glazing bars, and 44x69mm in key areas. To stay cost-effective, Alton optimized the process by delivering greenhouses in flat-pack format, reducing handling and storage costs. This approach ensures durability and exceptional value.

Guttering

Every model includes a guttering system that efficiently channels water away and allows for easy collection. The Victorian model features a larger gutter compared to the standard Evolution range, providing enhanced water management and collection capabilities for added convenience and functionality.

Roof Vents

Each model includes a generous number of roof vents, all equipped with automatic openers as standard. These clever mechanical devices use heat expansion to gradually open and close the vents based on temperature changes. No electricity needed. Fully adjustable, they help you to create the ideal growing environment.

Louvres

The Alton Greenhouse includes one or more louvre windows, designed to work with the roof vents. As warm air escapes through the roof vents, cooler air is drawn in through the louvres, enhancing airflow. Positioned near the bottom, top, side, or rear, they come with manual openers but can be upgraded to automatic.

Door Handle

Victorian Alton greenhouses feature a hinged door with a low threshold as standard, ensuring easy access. The hinges are crafted from high-quality stainless steel for durability and longevity, and the door handle includes a secure mortice lock, providing both functionality and enhanced security for your greenhouse.

Door System

The EIGHT, TEN, and TWELVE wide greenhouse models are perfect for serious gardeners, offering the flexibility to extend to any length. The prestigious Alton Greenhouse is made in the UK and is a custom item, making it non-returnable. If you have any questions before placing your order, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 888-648-5333. Once finalized, the order typically has a lead time of 12 to 18 weeks for delivery.

This product ships via LTL (Less Than Truckload) with curbside delivery only. The driver will use a pallet jack and liftgate to unload the crate but will require assistance from the customer to unload the framing boxes. We recommend having at least two people available to help during delivery.
