This pump was included with every freeze dryer purchase in the past, and is available as a replacement for current 'classic' freeze dryer owners. Customers with certain older model freeze dryers or more recent models that came with a Premier Pump may need an adapter and/or hose to use this pump. Harvest Right will provide those free of charge. To verify which adapter you may need, call 800-700-5508.
NOTE: This pump cannot be used with the new generation Harvest Right Extra Large Pro Home Freeze Dryer

It should be kept closed.

To turn pump on is the switch to be in O or - position
The "O" position of the switch is "off". When all else fails, you can just plug the vacuum pump directly into a wall outlet and test it out, and then plug it back into the freeze dryers, so they are 100% confident that they are leaving the pump in the on position.
