The oil free scroll vacuum pump is available for any size Harvest Right freeze dryer. These pumps are quiet, fast, and easy to use.

Over time as the scroll vacuum pump may wear and not pull as good of a vacuum, you can get this rebuild kit for $185 for the standard size oil free scroll pump (for small, medium, and large freeze dryers), or $199 for the extra large size oil free scroll pump (used on extra large freeze dryers).

The scroll vacuum pump rebuild kit consists of bearings, seals, etc. - all the wear parts that need to be serviced -and you do the rebuild when needed, which typically is every 1-3 years depending on the pump's workload in your usage. This kit requires you to have a moderate level of shop experience and knowledge. You may have to fabricate a tool.ย

Please call to discuss before ordering, unless you have a high degree of confidence that you are going to be able to do the pump rebuild successfully.

Note:ย  This rebuild kit is not compatible with the discontinued low profile oil free pump.

Please contact Harvest Right directly if your need their rebuild service. Their experts will refurbish the pump as needed, unless there has been a catastrophic failure e.g. fins destroyed by introduction of foreign objects/material.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does the Harvest Right Oil-Free Scroll Pump Rebuild Kit include?

The rebuild kit includes the primary wear components commonly replaced during pump maintenance, including bearings, seals, O-rings, and other service parts needed to restore vacuum pump performance.

Why would I need to rebuild my Harvest Right oil-free scroll pump?

Over time, normal wear on seals, bearings, and internal components can reduce the pump's ability to achieve a deep vacuum. Rebuilding the pump helps restore performance and extend the service life of the vacuum pump.

How often should the oil-free scroll pump be rebuilt?

Most users rebuild their pump every 1 to 3 years depending on usage. Harvest Right recommends replacing tip seals approximately every 8,000 operating hours and replacing bearings, shaft seals, and other major wear components approximately every 16,000 hours.

What are the signs that my vacuum pump needs rebuilding?

Common symptoms include longer freeze-drying cycles, difficulty reaching target vacuum levels, higher than normal pressure readings, reduced pump efficiency, excessive noise, or the inability to achieve a deep vacuum during operation.

Can I rebuild the Harvest Right oil-free scroll pump myself?

Yes. Many Harvest Right owners successfully rebuild their pumps using the rebuild kit and manufacturer-approved instructional videos. The process requires mechanical aptitude, careful attention to detail, and following the rebuild instructions step-by-step.ย

Will rebuilding the pump improve vacuum performance?

In many cases, yes. Replacing worn seals, bearings, and other wear components can restore the pump's ability to achieve a deeper vacuum and improve overall freeze dryer performance.

Is this rebuild kit compatible with all Harvest Right oil-free vacuum pumps?

Compatibility varies by pump model and generation. To ensure you receive the correct rebuild kit, please verify your pump model before placing your order. Please note that this rebuild kit is not compatible with the discontinued Harvest Right Low Profile Oil-Free Pump.

Can a rebuild kit fix a pump that will not start?

Not necessarily. A rebuild kit addresses normal wear components inside the pump. Electrical issues, motor failures, damaged wiring, or other non-serviceable problems may require additional diagnosis or professional repair.

Do I need special tools to rebuild the oil-free scroll pump?

Basic mechanical hand tools are required such as Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, and snap-ring pliers. Additional tools such as a bearing press may be helpful. Review the rebuild instructions and videos before ordering.

Is rebuilding the pump more cost-effective than replacing it?

In most cases, rebuilding the pump is significantly less expensive than purchasing a new oil-free scroll pump. Regular maintenance can extend pump life and help maximize the value of your freeze dryer investment.

How long does a rebuilt oil-free scroll pump typically last?

Pump lifespan depends on operating conditions, maintenance practices, and usage frequency. With proper maintenance and timely replacement of wear components, many users achieve years of reliable service from their oil-free scroll pumps.
